BaBs

BaBs Peer Support Group for pregnant couples and new parents, Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast BaBs (Birthing and Babies) is a peer support group and a program of the Maternity Coalition. Our aim is to make birth happier for Sunshine Coast people, regardless of how and where they have their baby. In 2012 we are changing BaBs to suit the needs of Mums on the coast better. Therefor we will be offering two different versions of BaBs; A Morning BaBs session and an Evening BaBs session.

Morning BaBs

will run every last Monday of the month at Yandina Permaculture House (Crn of Farrell and North street in Yaninda) now from 10 – 12.

This session will make space for everyone to come along with their belly or their baby to talk, listen and ask questions. The topics will be set by the women attending on the day.
So come along, have a cup of tea, meet other lovely women/men or hang out for a while on the playground, ask questions, take up a topic or bring along some interesting information.

The next Morning BaBs will be on Monday the 27th of Feb at 10am. Everyone is welcome regardless of their preferred birthing and parenting choices and entry is by Gold coin donation.

Evening BaBs

will be on the first Wednesday of the month from 7pm – 9pm and will be held at Yin Health, Suite 1B, Ground Floor, The Edge East Building 10 Lake Kawana Boulevard, Birtinya.

At this group we will rotate 3 topics :

“Early Bird Childbirth Education”
for women/couples who are just pregnant, thinking of getting pregnant this year or just new to the Coast.
At this session we will talk about all the different birthing options on the Coast.

“Birth Story Healing group session”
This is a session for women/couples who have experienced disappointing or traumatic births. It will be an opportunity to come and talk about your birth and/or listen to others who also had difficult experiences and many of the same feelings, and get some validation from people who appreciate that it does matter how your baby was born.

“Positive birth story circle”
This session is about all those lovely and empowering stories we also have out there. Not just natural and straight forward ones but ones where the woman and her partner felt good and empowered!! So please come along to share your story or come to listen and be inspired.

Everyone is welcome regardless of their preferred birthing and parenting choices.
Entry is $15 (pr. couple) pre booked. Contact  Yin Health to make your booking -  5438 8387   or $20 at the door.
